THE FLASHES

The Thirteenth Flash

The Fourth Question: The successes gained by the people of misguidance, the strength they display, and their victories over the people of guidance make it appear as though they rely upon some power and truth. Does this mean either that the people of guidance possess some weakness, or that the others possess some truth?

The Answer: Never! They possess no truth, nor do the people of truth possess any weakness. Yet, unfortunately, because of this situation, some short-sighted and unreasoning people among the common folk fall into doubt, and their convictions are harmed. They say: “If the people of truth possessed complete truth and reality, they would not suffer so much defeat and humiliation. For truth is powerful. And according to the principle:

اَلْحَقُّ يَعْلُو وَلَا يُعْلٰى

strength belongs to truth. If the people of misguidance who triumph over the believers did not possess some true strength and support, they would not be able to gain so many victories and successes.”

The answer is this: just as it has been decisively proven in the preceding Signs that the defeat of the people of truth does not arise from weakness or lack of truth, so too it has been decisively proven that the victory of the people of misguidance does not arise from their strength, power, or support. The answer to this question, then, lies in the totality of the preceding Signs. Here we shall only point to some of their stratagems and the weapons they use.

I myself have repeatedly witnessed a small group of mischief-makers defeating a far larger group of upright people. I was astonished and sought the reason for this. After careful examination, I understood with certainty that such victories do not arise from strength or power, but rather from corruption, baseness, and destruction. These mischief-makers exploit divisions among the people of truth, sow discord among them, seize upon their weak points, stir up low desires and personal grudges, activate the harmful capacities that lie within human nature like destructive mines, flatter the pharaonic pride of the nafs under the name of honour and glory, and spread fear through merciless destruction. Through such satanic stratagems, they gain temporary victories over the people of truth.

Yet according to the mystery of:

وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

and according to the principle:

اَلْحَقُّ يَعْلُو وَلَا يُعْلٰى

these temporary victories are not only worthless to them in terms of benefit, but also become the means by which they earn Hell for themselves, while the people of truth obtain Paradise.

Indeed, on the path of misguidance, powerless people seek to appear powerful, and insignificant people seek fame. In order to achieve this, conceited, fame-seeking, and hypocritical individuals take up a position against the people of truth. They try, with minimal means, to display their power and frighten and harm others, so as to gain a position, become visible, and attract attention. They seek to become a subject of discussion through the destruction they cause, which requires no authority or power, but comes about through mere neglect and inaction.
